Call Blitz: back-to-back practice at the pace of real dialing

Outdoo's Call Blitz runs reps through timed, back-to-back roleplay calls with configurable pickup rates, built for repetition, not single sessions.

A single roleplay call teaches a rep how to handle one conversation. It doesn't teach them what it feels like to make their fortieth call of the day with twenty more on the list and no time to overthink the last one.

Why this matters

Outbound calling is a volume skill as much as a technique one. A rep can know the right thing to say and still fall apart under the pace of real dialing, where most calls don't connect, the ones that do start cold, and there's no pause between them to reset. Single, isolated roleplay sessions don't build that endurance or that rhythm.

Reps needed a practice mode that mirrors the pressure of the dial, not just the content of one call.

How it works

Call Blitz runs reps through a timed session, typically 15 to 60 minutes, of back-to-back roleplay calls using AI buyer agents instead of real contacts.

Configurable pickup rates control how often a simulated contact answers at all, mirroring the real mix of connects and no-answers a rep would face on an actual dialer. When a call doesn't connect, the session moves to the next one automatically, no manual restart, no dead air. Agents run sequentially, one call completing before the next begins, so reps stay in a repetition loop instead of context-switching between setups.

Managers build blitz programs targeted at specific skills, discovery, objection handling, or a particular product line, by choosing which agents populate a given session, typically 2 to 4 agents so the session stays focused, either mixing call types for broad practice or using variations of the same persona to push adaptability on one weak spot.

Afterward, they see completion rates, attempt counts, and improvement trends across sessions and across reps, turning a practice mode into a measurable program rather than a one-off drill. Performance data from blitz sessions rolls into the same coaching metrics used across the rest of Outdoo, rather than sitting in a separate report. The streak reps see on the session list tracks consecutive blitzes completed without a gap, a participation signal that often flags disengagement before it shows up in scores. Outdoo rolled Call Blitz out progressively, from v2.13 through the v3.0 revamp completed in January 2026, refining pacing, analytics, and program building along the way. Full setup and practice steps are in Call Blitz overview.

What this unlocks

A sales manager onboarding a new cohort can schedule a 30-minute objection-handling blitz for the Friday before reps go live on real dials, then check attempt counts and improvement trends before deciding who's ready. A team that keeps losing early-call momentum can build a blitz program specifically around discovery openers and measure whether repetition actually moves scores over a few weeks, instead of guessing.

A field team coming back from a conference with a batch of fresh inbound leads can run a short blitz that same day to work through the list while the leads are still warm, then check pickup rate afterward to see how many contacts actually engaged versus went unanswered.

The bigger picture

Reps don't get better at volume calling by discussing it. They get better by doing forty of them in a row, badly at first, until it isn't hard anymore.
