A single roleplay agent used to mean a single rehearsal. Rebuilding it for a different objection, a different tone, or the next stage of the deal meant starting over. Now one agent is a starting point for as many as a team needs.

Why this matters

Sales cycles are not one conversation, they are a sequence: discovery, demo, pricing, negotiation, close. Reps who only ever rehearse against a fresh, unrelated buyer each time never practice the harder skill, carrying context and rapport with the same buyer across stages.

At the same time, managers running team-wide practice need enough variety, different personalities, different objections, different voice tones, that reps are not just memorizing one script. Building that variety by hand, one agent at a time, does not scale past a handful of scenarios.

How it works

From any existing roleplay agent, a manager can generate a variation with one click: a new persona, a new scenario, or a new voice style, while keeping the underlying structure intact. Duplicate mode makes a straightforward copy for manual editing, while Randomize mode goes further, producing several variations at once across persona, scenario, voice, tone, and emotional state, so a manager gets a spread to choose from without configuring each one individually.

Cloning works differently and solves a different problem. Instead of generating something new, it duplicates the same buyer persona across different sales stages, so the skeptical CFO a rep meets in discovery is recognizably the same CFO in the pricing and negotiation rounds.

The buyer's concerns, communication style, and history carry forward, and the manager can still update scorecard criteria and add coaching instructions specific to the new stage, so grading standards shift with the stage of the deal while the buyer underneath stays constant.

Agents built either way, varied or cloned, are ready for the same practice formats as any other agent, Courses, Loops, and Call Blitz sessions.

What this unlocks

A manager preparing a team roleplay session can hit randomize mode once and walk in with six distinct buyer variations instead of building six agents manually. A rep working a complex enterprise deal can clone that prospect's persona and rehearse the full cycle end to end, discovery through negotiation, against a buyer who remembers what was already discussed.

In insurance and other regulated sectors, cloning a persona across stages also lets a rep rehearse how a single client's stated concerns should be addressed consistently from the first call through underwriting questions, without the messaging drifting stage to stage.

A support training lead can randomize on emotional state alone, turning one billing-dispute persona into calm, frustrated, and irate versions, so new hires practice de-escalation against a spread of tempers without building three separate agents.

Full instructions are in Create variations of a roleplay agent and Clone and reuse roleplay agents for the sales cycle.

Launched in v2.10, September 2025. A buyer persona is no longer a one-time asset built for one rehearsal, it is a starting point a team can reshape or replay as many times as the deal requires.
