Teach the Concept First: Building an AI Trainer for Sales and Support Teams
Watch how customer-facing teams use Outdoo, the AI roleplay and training platform, to practice, coach, and ramp faster.
About This Video
Someone joins on Monday and by Wednesday they're in a pricing objection roleplay. They bomb it, and everyone reads the score as "bad at objection handling." The actual problem is they can't explain your pricing model yet. That's a knowledge gap, and a roleplay is the wrong tool for it.
Concept trainers flip the roles. In a roleplay the agent plays the buyer and your team member does the selling. In a trainer session the agent plays the teacher: it reads the documents you attach, walks the person through them out loud, asks questions, and corrects them when they get it wrong.
The obvious objection is that you already have the doc, so why not just send it? Because reading is passive and, worse, unverifiable. Someone scrolls to the bottom of a 12-page deck and the system marks it complete. The moment they have to explain your discount tiers in their own words, you find out immediately whether they understood the tiers or just recognised the words.
I build one end to end, then run a full live session, a security concept trainer fielding real questions about SOC 2, SAML and OIDC, PII scrubbing, TLS and AES encryption, and EU data residency, including a screen share where the trainer reads the learner's own screen. Then where this pays off: pricing and competitive positioning for sales, entitlements and refund authority for support, and onboarding, CS, and regulated industries.
